Traditional toilets rely on a large volume of water to push waste through the trapway. Proficiency toilets work differently — harnessing the combined power of air and water to deliver a powerful, quiet flush using just 3 litres. Here is how it works.
Compression
After each flush the Proficiency toilet tank refills. As water enters the tank it compresses air through a small transfer tube directly into the trapway. This process pressurizes the system and fully primes it for the next efficient 3-litre flush — before you even press the button.
Pull, Not Push
Unlike pressure-assisted toilets that force waste out, the pressurized trapway in your Proficiency toilet acts as a vacuum. When a flush is engaged the patented air transfer system draws air from the trapway — powerfully pulling water and waste from the bowl into the waste line. This quiet siphon action delivers maximum flush power using only 3 litres of water.

Yes, Proficiency toilets sold after 2018 can be plunged like any other toilet. Older models without a check valve on the air transfer system can also be plunged, but should not be plunged aggressively.
